NEW! Adult Service User Training

This is a course that was originally commissioned by Enfield DAT in order to provide essential information in a collaborative forum to their service users. The programme consists of 8 full day’s Training/Workshops. These can run independently if required, thus tailoring the programme to client’s needs.

The 8-day Programme consists of
sessions covering:

Harm Reduction
Hep C & Diet
Anxiety
Coping with Recovery
Emotional Needs
Shoulds and Wants
Stress & Depression
Craving Dairy
Drink/Drug Diary
Relapse Prevention
Anger Management

The sessions are run in a group-work style with group members working through a number of practical exercises, visual/oral stimuli, and group discussions led by an experienced group-worker. The sessions are evaluated post training, and a report can be included as part of the package.

This is an extremely useful course, particularly ‘as 90 per cent of all hepatitis C diagnoses are associated with injecting drug use,’ (DDN May 2008) and testing and treatment is ‘patchy’ (according to Healthcare Commission Chief Executive Anna Walker). By commissioning all or part of this 8-day Training Programme, essential education and skills are disseminated to service users to aid their health, recovery and well-being and to prevent relapse.

I found it most useful to be able to identify strategies when dealing with stressful situations’
