Following a very successful 5-month Project to create an innovative, engaging and hard hitting piece of theatre involving issues surrounding alcohol to include; physical health/binge drinking; sexual health/teenage pregnancy; young carers; drinking in Muslim communities, effects of drinking on communities as a whole and the promotion of local drug/alcohol services; Smashed has become an established piece of educational theatre and now film adaptation (with teaching notes) for use in Schools and Colleges. Initially funded through Newham CDRP, subsequent tours were funded by Ealing & Hounslow Drug & Alcohol Teams and this has led to further ventures, including; a short film for Year 7 parents in Hounslow regarding how best to talk to their children about drug and/or alcohol issues; collaboration with Kent's Kenward Trust to gain future funding for a Tour of 'Smashed' in Kent and discussions with a number of DAT's for new theatre-in-education projects surrounding the issues of knife crime/drug running and young carers.
